I drive my car in what I call my 10 mile radius around my house; to the school, to the grocery store, Target, doctors, the vet and work. Everything I need to do is around this comfort zone. I have no clue why I have settled in to this circle of suburban sprawl but it suits me fine.
I come and go not really checking my car for imperfections every time I get in or out of it or before I leave a place or after I pull into my garage. Luckily for me I have a husband to do this for me (I know there are a lot of us out there ladies with this situation.) One day my hubby found a dent in the front quad area of my car. He begins to give me the fifth about the dent; did you see this? Where did you park? How can you have missed this dent? You should park away from other cars. Yada, Yada Yada. Does any of this sound familiarly annoying? I had to listen to this tirade for at least 3 different times before I told him that I was going to put my car in a bubble and be the bubble wife of Schaumburg. I think the absurdity of my suggestion finally shut him up.
So coming from a Mom that could give a crap about cars and the minor dings and scratches they acquire over their lifetime (they are like battle-s-cars.) And knowing my car (whose name if Peetey) she could care less too. There are a lot more important things to deal with and obsess over like what kind of Hamburger Helper to make for dinner or how many loads of laundry I can finish before I go to sleep.
I love my husband and I guess there are just things that are “guy things” and I have to live with them, but at least I can talk to my girlie-friends about it and their husbands’ “things” and have a good laugh about everything. We don’t take the small stuff too seriously and laughter with close friends is the best medicine ever.
Peace Out!
